Schwinn 213 Exercise Bike
Does Schwinn 213 Meets Our Tests?
Should you buy the Schwinn 213 Exercise Bike? This article will answer that question you have on your mind and you will walk away with confidence and information on what to look out for and if the 213 is suitable for you. We’ll be talking about the good features of the Schwinn 213 recumbent bike that a good recumbent bike should have and any bad features that I think will affect your workout plan. We’ll also be talking about some of the 213’s feature and its user friendliness. (Comfortable? Easy to navigate menu? And etc) The purpose of this article is to make your decision making as easy as possible. If you have been reading the reviews on the internet on how great the schwinn 213 exercise bike is, I have to agree with most of their points having used the 213 myself. One of the few things that I agree on is the comfortable seats! The 213 is fit with Bio Fit technology which means every contact point of your butt, foot, and hand will be adjusted for maximum comfort and stability. If you have a back pain or have been suffering some tensions on the neck and arm from using an Upright model then this is definitely for you. Tons of Workout Plans For Every Needs The schwinn 213 recumbent also has a lot of workout programmed into it, most of it is great professional workout plans that you get from a gym instructor or someone knowledgeable in this area. I particularly like cross training even it’s the hardest plan on the system because it will burn your fat a lot faster than other plan. With such a comfortable (and quiet) workout this is something I don’t mind going through everyday for the benefits I can reap. Magnetic Resistance Makes It SO Quiet The 213 is also extremely quiet because it has a magnetic resistance technology instead of the old chain resistance. (Magnetic resistance means there’s no friction between two physical parts) To give you an idea how quiet this is, I normally need to blast the TV or have a hard time concentrating on my reading…but with the Schwinn 213 exercise bike recumbent I can pedal quite hard and still listen to the TV at normal volume and if I’m in the bedroom my wife would be sleeping beside me and she wouldn’t have noticed. (Unless of course I change the resistance which will have a beep sound coming out from it) The Features As for its features (tons of bells and whistles) it’s easy to navigate the menu despite the complexity and its feature rich menu. The 213 also comes with an adjustable louver fan to keep you cool that is not really useful because it doesn’t blow hard enough and it’s not adjustable low enough for me. The one thing I like about the 213 a lot is the number of resistance they have (the 213 has 16 level) which ensures that you can use the 213 for years and years to come, it’s already an intense workout for me at level 8. (Considering I’m pretty fit, most people would be at their limit on level 6) What's bad on the 213 Ok, let’s talk about what I don’t like about the 213 which is the heart rate monitor. The 213 has a hand grip heart rate monitor which basically means you have to place your palm on the steel part of the handle bar and grip it for it to monitor your heart rate. Now what’s wrong with that? The thing is…hand grip is inaccurate! And being such a high tech the 213 is, this is a disappointment. You see, the 213 has a calorie countdown, you set the number of calories you would love to burn…and input all your details into the machine and it will countdown the calories instead of time. This is a great feature but if you have an inaccurate heart rate monitor then this will be inaccurate too. It’s not very inaccurate, just inaccurate enough for your workout plan to go sidetrack in the long run. What is an accurate heart rate monitor? It’s a cordless chest strapped ones. This is the only issue I find that I’m not satisfied with the 213, otherwise the 213 is a well built and solid exercise bike. (I can pedal real hard and its still stable and quiet) Conclusion The conclusion is, get the 213 because it’s worth every dollar you invest on it. If you’re not a fitness freak like me who expect every reading to be accurate then this is the perfect exercise bike for you. |
